and we saw our neighbors. We started talking and they asked if we were doing Halloween again this year. I told them yes but I wasn't putting props out yet because the weather has been really rainy plus I'm afraid of them being stolen. They started asking well when are they going out ...we loved what you did last year and we've been looking for the display again. It felt so good to hear that.
Last year was just a few things thrown together with some spooky music. This year is gonna be way bigger. We happen to be in the Spirit store and they said did you see that guy that crawls on the ground? I said yep, have him for a month already...lol (and his girlfriend...creepy crawly lady). It just felt good to know someone is looking forward to it. Makes it all worth it.

I know what you mean. I always light the lights October 1st. Like clock work. I was running behind this year and hadn't even started yet on September 30. I had facebook queries from kid's parents, people on the street wondering if I had forgotten....lol

I normally have some lights out and basic cobwebs out by the 1st. This year I've put so much of my own time and effort into these new things that I'm crushed at the idea of someone damaging or stealing them, so I have nothing out yet
. But I spoke to my co-workers and asked for some extra patrol. Going out on a limb and putting things out this weekend (Sunday/Monday for me). Wish me luck!
It's Halloween, what more do you need to know.

that's awesome, hannibal, that your neighbors appreciate and look forward to your haunt, that way too, maybe they will keep a eye on things, now that they know of your concern! My hubby has that concern too, I , due to alot of personal things going on, haven 't been able to do the campground haunts, and so want to do bigger at home this year, usually do a smaller one, but haven't been able to start, , the same issures, I hope today I can start ! I am not sure how big to set up, again, due to the vandal issue

There's a soccer field between us..literally....lol. I know if they were our next door neighbors they would keep watch but they are too far away. The neighbors on one of our immediate sides doesn't like us due to a property dispute their druggy daughter started with us(surveyed property, we were in the right)then the neighbors on the other side are a nice couple who mainly keep to themselves and the people next to them are young and nice but the husband hates Halloween because he was scared with a chainsaw when he was younger. So, we're just going to wait. It's not a big deal, though I am excited to see what it will look like.. We're hopefully doing a test setup on Friday, just for placement and to see how it will look."Be the kind of woman that when your feet hit the floor each morning the devil says,"Oh Crap, She's up!"
