OK, so my family has been running a house haunt for several years now. For the last couple of years I've done sliding on the drive way. It's a fantastic scare that always works wonders. In fact, we've noticed that works a bit too well at times. People are prone to running by me and straight out into the street, which occasionally has moving cars. Needless to say, it seems like we need something to slow people on their way out. I'm picturing some sort of barrier to block off most of the driveway.
There's two problems though. Firstly, it's a driveway, and anchoring into the cement is out of the question. So the barrier will have to be weighted. Secondly, as I said, these people are in full sprint at times. What kind of barrier will they be able to see and not break their neck over? Rope? Wood railing? Painted bright orange? And what about the weights to hold the thing steady? Those in themselves become a hazard. Any ideas? It seems like a simple problem on the surface, but I'm stumped, and really want to make sure things stay as safe as possible. Maybe it would be safer without any new barrier.
Thanks for your input!

I think a construction-type barrier would be the best thing...it's big, bright and weighty...
this would block off the driveway and keep folks penned in."Here! Here! - It is the beating of his hideous heart!"
