Haunted house? To give you a little insight I basicly live in hills a bit away from the city on an old indian reservation that has a cemetary that dates back to the 1800/s (wifes native american). I have taken on the enviable/unenviable task of making me and my wifes garage into a haunted house (my idea although she is offering here commone sense which is much needed). We did it the simple way by hanging wires end to end and draping curtains over them creating the corridors after much taping. Anyhow, once the walls were up it immediately starting feeling a little creepy. All in all when it's done there will be 5 hallways. I am an AVID fan of all that is Halloween..it has had a special place with me since I can remember..I am sure you guys can relate.

Now tonight I was in there by myself and playing some haunting music to get myself motivated. I was basicly imagining where I was going to put all my props/blacklights/strobelights ect (once most of them come in the mail). I started to get a little freaked out...the garage door and side door to the garage were closed and I had the music fairly loud as I was navigating back and forth throught the corridors. Also a few weeks ago a childhood friend of mine was brutally shot and killed in town. A few nights after his passing I was up late thinking about it all the while looking out of the window of my front door. I was picturing where he used to park his car across the street at a mutual friends house. I thought to myself...if anyone would mess with us in the afterlife if it was possible, it would be him. I then said in my mind "if you can hear me give me a sign you're here" LITERALLY immediately after I said that the lights flickered behind me, hair on my neck stood straight up and all the lights went off ON THE WHOLE BLOCK, including my house. Here's the kicker, almost everyone on the block knew him. Now, if that isn't impeccable timing...WHAT IS?

Coincidence? Maybe....maybe not! I've been caught off guard by a door hanger prop I have - a witch that when activated cackles loudly. I made the mistake of hanging her first on my front door because it's easy- only to scare the crap out of me when I came back out with more props! LOL! I hang her last now!

The only thing that is close for me is that the wife will play a joke on me. She has a witches broom that is motion activated and will cackle loudly and start moving around the floor. She will turn it on and just wait for me to come walking by. It has gotten me a few times this year.

Sinister Blood I truly believe that your friend was saying hello! A couple of things have happened to me and others and I believe the spirits are around us. I have a witch sitting in one of those old wicker chairs with the high backs. I made her hair out of steel wool pads that you unwind and they are really long....in other words she's creepy lol. I brought her up from the basement to put out but didn't get to her and left her in my foyer....the next morning I got up early before the sun came up and walked down the steps and she scared the crap out of me. I just love Halloween!

I too think your friend was saying hello. We've had a couple strange happenings in our house throughout the years that we've lived here (things lying across the room, clapping has been heard when no one was awake, etc)
Yes, I've been freaked out by some of my things. We have a reaper that is motion sensored. Usually he dosen't go up until the night before the party because my girls get scared by him.

    Yeah, been spooked.

Had a couple of menacing looking Jacks all carved and lit up. Placed them on the porch at a certain angle. Once I was satisified with the setup, I walked around the house to the back to get something.

The wife steps out, gives the pumpkins a critical eye, decides to shift their position slightly, goes back inside.

I come back to the front, not knowing she'd come outside.

The Jack o' Lanterns had turned and were now staring at the edge of the house, as if waiting for me to turn the corner. I came around the corner and found them staring at me, grinning.

    Creepy couple of seconds there.

I built my electric chair a few years ago and had just dressed the victim and seated him in the chair sitting at the garage door. I was in the back of the garage working on something else, when I got this strange tingling on the back of my neck that someone was watching me. I turned quick only to be scared by the guy in the electric chair. Immediately went inside and grabbed a beer. Wife asked me what's wrong and I told her I just scared the s**t out of myself. She could only laugh.

I also catch my self a lot of times looking real close to see if someone is standing around the yard or in the driveway when I hear a sound and look quick just to see whatever props happen to be there. Sometimes it's a little creepy, especially when it turns out that someone is actually standing there.

It happened to me last night. I was working in our Lion's Club Haunted Barn with another member. We were in the building alone, knowing the doors were closed. The one unlocked employee main entry has a beeper on it, so if someone comes in, you hear the beep. We heard the black plastic strips separating some of the scenes move, yet all doors were closed. I'm sure it was just air pressure, as it was windy outside, but that gave us a chill. Two nights before that, the CD player with ghostly whispers for out tunnel of lost souls started playing. I think that may have been our fault, since we had tested it about an hour before. We may have hit "pause," instead of "stop." At least that is what I am trying to convince myself happened.

Oh yes, it has happened to me. I was builing my boogeyman prop, and just got the hands on ( they are reaching out) I had it hanging on the door for easy assembly. I turned around to get some more stuff for him that was on the floor. The wind moved the door a little. As soon as I turned around the he was in motion and right on top of me! I got so scared that it made me fall backwards ( my little heart was getting a workout).

After I gathered myself, still a little spooked. I set him on the other side of the door and opened it all the way. Well.....my husband came home went into the bed room and closed the door behind him ( he had no idea I finish the prop) Well, I heard him scream like a little girl. And yell......" Kristine! thats not funny, move him some where else. I thought to myself, sure...I will move him. IN TO THE CLOSET!!!! mwhaahaha.
