I've started a boo-ing at work. I came in Sunday afternoon, since I knew not a soul would be there (I live right across the highway) and placed Boos on five co-workers' desks. I've been really excited about it, but that excitement is starting to fade. While I'm totally happy with giving 5 co-workers a treat, I haven't heard anybody say anything about being booed and I haven't seen any start going around yet. I picked 5 people at random thinking the mix would be a good start. I don't want anyone to know it was me. I just really wish I'd hear some excitement out of everyone else. Maybe it'll start to take off next week. I wanted to start it early to give it plenty of time to work it's way around the office before Halloween. Do you think I'm just not giving it enough time yet?

Hang in there. A lot of people really don't "get it" at first. If your office is really big it might take some time as well. Maybe put an anonymous note page in the kitchen/cafeteria that has room for people to write comments about the boos? Also - do you know the religious persuasion of the people you booed? I accidentally included people one year that were NOT impressed to have anything to do with halloween...even if it was just mini pumpkins and candy....you can't expect anything happy if it's against their religion Just hang in there for the rest~

I don't know of anyone here overly religious or that have anything against Halloween. Everybody has been decorating for it, so I figured a Boo would be okay. Maybe they just haven't had a chance to do act on it yet. Hopefully at least one person will. If not, that's okay. I still had fun Booing people.

    *dumb question* what is Boo-ing?

I'm guessing it is just secretly leaving treats for people in your worplace or home wihout admitting it is you, in order to generate a feeling of well being and holiday spirit. But I would like that confirmed

That's basically what it is. There are all sorts websites you can go to online now to get info about it. It's also called "ghosting".

Update: Came to work today and almost the entire 1st floor has been boo'ed!!! I was shocked! I only boo'ed one person on the 1st floor because we are just the admins, IT, and VPs. I boo'ed 4 people upstairs in the call center. I haven't really seen anything up there yet. The lady I boo'ed on the 1st floor is AWESOME!!!!

Glad your booing is catching on! I considered doing that at my work but not sure how it would work out there. We don't have desks or things like that, I might give people the wrong idea if I am seen slipping things into people's purses, especially since there is always someone out and about... Hmm. Any ideas?
