Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie Trick R Treat. It is classic Halloween, but more horror than thriller. Needing a good, fairly clean, jumpy scary movie (new releases please) to show outdoors to a large group of teens. We like the spooky movies with a few scares, it adds to the excitement of showing the movie outside in the woods.
Any suggestions?
TIA

Blair witch would be cool to watch in the woods

Blair Witch would be good in the woods, but if you're looking for new releases only then the only thing i can think of that fits the scary jumpy theme is Drag Me To Hell.
That being said, that's probably as far from 'fairly clean' as you could get.
But i think teens would love it, jumpy, edgy, suspenseful, and funny (the goat scene)

The Blair Witch, yuck. That movie scared me about as much as Monster House. As far as a jump out of your seats, fairly clean new release I dont think there is such a movie. Matter afact finding a scary movie these days is tough.
[REC] This is definitely not a clean movie but it fits all the criteria (Warning movie was filmed with a hand held camera).
Drag Me To Hell--Release date is next week. Again not a clean movie but fits most of the other criteria.
American Werewolf In London--Personally if I am watching a movie outside this is where I would start. Not clean, not new but I would start here.
Phantasm II--Surprise maybe, but this movie has finally been re-released on DVD after a very long time and is a sleeper. (Better than the original IMHO)
These are just a few options off the top of my head.2011 Ultimate Spider, click below

Even though blair witch isn't new or particularly scarey it might be if you are in the woods and you hear creaking branches and things to make you a little more on edge. Maybe have a couple volunteers randomly crunch through some leaves a little farther away from the screen when there's a quiet moment in the movie.

A lot will depend on the age of the teens... what a 13 yr old will like and be scared by is greatly different from a 17 yr old.

The kids will be mostly 15-17 years old. Freshmen to Seniors in HS.

I wasn't that impressed with Blair Witch, I found it a bit slow. How about Jeepers Creepers the first one. Haven't seen it for a while but I'm sure there's woods in that movie somewhere.
