I pick my daughter up from school every day. We take the same route home every day. We go by this house yesterday and it has a coffin leaning against a telephone pole with a reaper and some other stuff with a paper on it that we couldn't read. I say to my daughter wouldn't it be cool if they were just giving that stuff away? We go by again today and the stuff is gone but there is a kids bike leaning against the pole with a sign on it. She says oh my god mom...the sign says free please take. I am still kicking myself. I didn't want to go up and just start touching their stuff but if I had I would have had a free coffin. I am soooo mad right now.

That's EXACTLY how I got my coffin a few years back. You shoulda heard my brakes screech to a halt when I saw it. This year, a local casket place was going out of business and was selling all their leftovers for a flat $300. I'm in a burnout phase and didn't bother to get one. I'm sure I'll regret that next year.

Bummer about your 'almost score.' I feel for ya!

I just couldn't have walked by without being a pest; I would have asked just to see.

I'm so sorry you missed out on this!

I'm just not forward enough to walk up to the house ring the bell and ask if they were getting rid of those things(I don't mean that in a bad way,I'm just a bit of an introvert). I told my daughter there was no way someone was getting rid of a coffin and they were probably setting up....silly me. I thought if I stopped the car, got out and started rummaging through this stuff they would think I was trying to steal it. I learned a valuable lesson...stop and ask. lol..live and learn I guess.
