I recieved a couple of new latex type masks. Foolishly I put them on without cleaning them. After doing so my eyes began to burn from something that appeared to be some sort of powder, probably some kind of mold release.

What do you clean your masks with, to get this stuff off or out of the mask without damaging them.

    Thanks

I have used mild liquid soap like Dawn and a washcloth, after drying throughly, like over nite you can lightly dust with talcum powder. It has worked for me.

I agree with kprimm. I don't have first hand experience, but I would believe that some household dish soap would work fine.

You might be reacting to latex powder. Once in a blue moon we get masks in that are very powdery and if I get it on my hands and forget and rub my eye, they really sting. I would agree with the above posts to wash with a mild cleaner and make sure to dry thoroughly before storing.
