Does anyone else remember this Halloween special? I loved it as a kid and would always went it from this video store. I remember not being able to figure out as a kid what time period it took place in, the people seemed to be in period clothes but they had TV, it was kind of strange but that’s what I liked about it. I was able to find a torrent of a vhs rip and burned it to dvd-r. I can’t wait to watch it close to Halloween. I bet I haven’t seen it in 15 to 20 years!

Sorry, never heard of it. But upon searching for it I see that it is very well liked.

I don't remember it. Looks like it came out in 1979, so I was the right age. I'm going to get a copy off ebay and see if it sparks a memory.

Had a heck of a time trying to find it, years back. Didn't help that someone thought they needed to change the name of it to "Night Dracula saved the World". Ended up ordering it through my local video store, because I couldn't find it through regular sources.

It came out October 28th, 1979 on tv. Won Primetime Emmy. Another 3 nominations. Starred: Judd Hirsch, Mariette Hartley, Henry Gibson, & Jack Riley.

I was thje right age when this come out but I don't remember it.

I don't ever remember seeing this but look forward to watching it today. Last year I was reminded of another one I loved when younger- Dark Night of the Scarecrow with Charles Durning and Larry Drake. A made-for-tv movie- much darker, not for the little kids.
