    Hallow Forum Fiends --

My hubby and I have been in an "inflatable" battle of sorts for the past couple Halloweens. With the Big Night just around the corner -- I feel it coming on again.
I think they are so fun - easy - the littlest monsters love 'em and they are a nice addition to our haunted trail. Not too scary, right? But Mr. "Why Can't I Add More Blood To It?" thinks that all inflatables are too silly and should be banished from the world of home haunting. We compromise each year - and I get to set up a few. He recoils to his Frankenstein Lab where he can blood and guts it up all that he wants. So I ask all in Forum Land -- Your thoughts about Inflatables?

Like or dislike? Has anyone altered them to make them even better? Do you use them and if so, any you recommend for this season? BOO!

HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM!!!! If i could get away with it i would run at them and tackle then and chew a hole in them and continue to shread them into a million pieces. (the inflatables that is not people)

So much more could be done to your haunt instead of spending on inflatables.

The inflatable is to home decor what an unexpected pimple is to a teen on Prom Night.

A big, jiggling, glowing, pulsating pimple.

    That goes for Christmas, too.

Edit - sorry, I can't stand them, but let's be clear. A lot of little ones love them, and they are a vital part of the equation. The only thing I can think to do would be to somehow keep the serious scares apart from the inflatable.

I hate them as well.. We don't do cutesy around here, period.. If someone ever tried to put one up I am sure my kids would "kill" it ..even the 8yr old doesn't do "cutesy" halloween..Then again she was raised in the Horror House here

Well, not being a HARDCORE decorator for halloween, I actually bought 2 of those from K-Mart over the Weekend. There are so many of them out now, the price has dropped pretty considerably. I got two LARGE ones (10 foot tall Frankenstein & and a 6 foot Gravestone with a Skeleton coming out from behind it winking or something) for 30 bucks a piece.

I am not the kind of person who like digging up his lawn to build massive creations (even though I am sure I could) Sometimes people go a little too OVER the top with Halloween Decorations and its starts to look Tacky.

So far - looks like the hubby is winning. I has no idea the question would inflate Forum feelings so dramatically!

Actually why I tolerate the inflatables..Definitely not our style, but at LEAST it is decorating of some kind ..better then nothing

Fortunately - I have no lawn geese and only a yard sale flag waiting for when I have to sell the contents of my house to pay for my Halloween habit! Thanks for the welcome and.....BOO!

They fall into the "not my thing" category. Like graveyards. I can appreciate them, but wouldn't do it myself.

There was a horse drawn hearse one a couple years ago where the cadaver in the back sat up and laid back down that I recall the following conversation in the store:

Me: "That's the coolest inflatable I've ever seen"
    Wife: "You want it?"
    Me: "No, it's an inflatable..."

I'ld still prefer the neighbors do an inflatable than nothing. (the ones that tried got told to take it down by their HOA overlords)
