Does anyone know if fogger timer/remotes work with any kind of fogger? Like, are they universal?
I had bought a Chauvet fogger off ebay and it was supposed to come with timer/remote. It didn't. So I am wondering if I can buy a separate timer/remote to use with it.

I take it this was one of those questions that was so dumb it didn't deserve an answer. LOL

Actually, it's good question. Many of the lower end foggers (Lite F/X, Gemmy, Fitco) timers are interchangable. I have a Chauvet F-1250 and I've never tried to use anything except the timer that shipped with the machine, so I don't know if it would work with anything else. I'd recommend two things - hassle the eBay seller as to why the timer didn't come with your fogger, and failing that, buy the correct timer from Chauvet. It may cost a bit more but it's better than killing the fogger wiring.

From what I've seen...
remote / delays are made specifically for a model type fogger. I've never tried to use a remote on a model that it isn't rated for. Don't know if it would work or even possibly damage a fog machine that isn't made for. In theory it should work but, I just don't know for certain. You could contact the fogger manufacturer about it.

Thanks for making me feel not so dumb.

I did hassle the ebay seller. ALL of their foggers show the nice timer/remote gig - but truth be told, they are NOT included. Buyer beware on those guys for sure.
I found a timer that Chauvet says will work, it's more expensive than the generic ones on ebay, but I don't want to risk blowing up my new fogger, so I will spend the extra $$$ and order it.
Thanks for the advice. You know you have a successful haunt when the ADULT visitors pee their pants.

BTW, if the eBay product picture shows a timer/remote and the description does not mention that the timer/remote is NOT included, you have the right to demand a partial refund directly from the seller or file a dispute with PayPal to be partially reimbursed. You can then put that money towards a nice Chauvet-compatible remote.

Thanks Haunter. I just opened a dispute with paypal. All of their pictures show the fancy smancy timer/remote. When I received the fogger, minus the remote, and called them on it, they said the ad must have been incorrectly placed. That's a lot of ads to incorrectly place if you ask me.

They denied my request for a partial refund. They told me I should just ship it back if I am "that unhappy with it". So that is what I am going to do.
Here's the real cheesy part - they accepted my friend's (who bought one too) request for a partial refund. They must not like me. Imagine that.
