Our local Barnes & Noble has a bunch of books on clearance for $1 each. In that group were a series of books called "Tales for the Midnight Hour - stories of horror" by J.B. Stamper. I bought every one that they had. I figured they would make a nice addition to Halloween goodie baskets for my party. Of course I bought a couple for me to read also .

I don't know if all the stores will have them, but it's worth a look (imho). They are paperback books, not hardcover.

Nice! I try to start looking around about this time for any goodies that could be used for prizes at our Halloween party... I'll have to see if our B&N has these!

    thanks!

A similar find is DVDs of public domain horror movies. My Walgreens carried a bunch of them around Halloween, for $2. Each DVD had a double feature on it.
