    Ok....

Basically this thread is for new memebrs or old who dont know what some phrases/words mean, that are spoken here....

Basically I came up with this thread because I was once a new member ( Believe it or not ), and being new many words seemed to be not understandable...

So feel free to post up slang/jargon terms that we use on our site....

You should add a definition for them or a description.

Axworthy: noun. an apparatus consisting of a taut line running along 2 or more pulleys, generally in a horizontal configuration, with one or more "ghosts" attached to the taut line. One pulley will be the drive wheel providing power to the rig.

Bucky: noun. an anatomically correct analog of the human skeleton, cast from resin. The "bones" are solid all the way through, making the "Bucky" relatively heavy and solid.

Blucky: noun. an anatomically incorrect analog of the human skeleton, made from blow-mold plastic. The bones are hollow, making it relatively light. The name "Blucky" is a conjunction of the name "bucky" and the term blow-mold.

    Nothing for "C" yet?

    How about...

Corpse: verb. The act of converting a skeleton (primarily) into a cadaver, usually in an advanced state of decomposition. Conjunction: present Corpsing, future To corpse, past Corpsed.
example Dick and Jane corpsed the dog skeleton, and named it Spot.

Drop Panel: noun. An opening in an otherwise continuous surface, in which a sliding panel has been mounted - usually opened at high speed, to reveal something nefarious.

...dammit...nothing pops into my head for "E"...

Fog Machine: noun. A mechanism in which a thick, non-toxic mist is produced, for theatrical purposes.
Also, a compact money sink, which brings much joy to haunters.
Alternately, a source of much hair pulling and teeth gnashing for haunters.

Fog Chiller: noun. A device used to cool and condense the fog produced by any variety of theatrical fog machines. The design of fog chillers may very well be one of the greatest debates among haunters.
Summarily, the holy grail of fog chillers, in which fog consistantly, reliably, rolls out and covers a graveyard in a low, spooky mist while not dissapating into the night air, remains just out of reach, keeping most haunters in pursuit of "better" designs for "next year".

    ...and I'm gone again...
    Static Prop belongs to halloweenrocks08!

    Coffin - See Toe-Pincher
Casket - The North American style of a box used for the purpose of containing the dead.

    JOL - Jack O Lantern

PIR - "Passive Infrared Sensor". A type of sensor used by a lot of haunters to trigger motion in props.
PLC - Programmable Logic Controller - A type of programmable controller that can be used to run animation routines and trigger props.

Toe-Pincher - A traditional European-style coffin which is narrower at the foot and head areas and wider in the middle. Not to be confused with a Casket!
