What is your opinion, if any... on the media sensationalism of vampirism. The recent movie "Twilight" has been huge at the box office...
Is this a good thing, or a bad thing?

In my opinion it's bad because now vampires have become a cliche. i myself won't do a vampire anytime soon partly because of it.

I hate it. Twilight is the bane of my existance. If only Bela Lugosi could rise from the grave and show these quacks the true meaning of being a vampire.

The Twilight movie was definitly a chick flick. Had I directed it there would have been a lot less focus on the love story and more on the hunting and decapitation. The fight and decapitation of James could have been the best scene in the movie but it sucked.

My sister is a twilight junky and the next book has tuns of fighting between vampires and werewolfs. It probably won't redeem itself but it will likely make it better.

Vampires aren't scary anymore, now they're teenage girls dream dates. Twilight is just the latest in this trend.
How can you be scary and sparkle?

The book The Dead Travel Fast examines how vampires have become part of popular culture. It's a really good read.
It's Halloween, everyone's entitled to one good scare.

Ok here come my rant get ready. I think it's funny to see how the vampire has changed over the centuries, Origanly vampires where scary hideous beasts that had DARK skin that was purple because they consumed so much blood. They were also plump because of of the blood that filled them.Vampires could origanly come out in the day if they wanted and garlic did nothing. Than fastfoward to Brahm Stoker's Dracula who is more of a sensual seductive vampire, but yet he still has that beast side to him. All of a sudden vampires can't go out in the sun and thay are reppeld by every hoply object and garlic. Now they have pale skin and are usually fit. I think Stoker really brought foward the modern day vampire that we are used to. And than come twilight...I liked reading it but IMO Edward Cullen is not a REAL VAMPIRE!! And if he is he is a pansy of a vampire!! He dosent drink human blood, he's goes out in the sun and sparkles which is totaly demoarlizing to the vampire. He has good reflexes and can run fast. And the thing that really bothers me is the no fangs thing, My favorite part about a vampire is the fangs and the only thing Edward has is glittering skin and velvet hair. I think twilight sparked this vampire craze but it's not even real vampires that these people are thinking about. The vampire dose not need another change into something thats even more human like than the last. The Twilight vampires have ruined the old vampire that us origanl vampire lover liked. When I was a vampire for fright fest I can not tell you how many times I was called Edward Cullen. I thatn proceded to gore myself up as much as i could with cuts on my face streaming blood, a cross burn mark, blood spattered on my face, and blood streaming from my mouth. That helped. So to answer your question I do not like the vampire craze right now. If it were the vampire that stoker created and people like Anne Rice than I would be pleased with the nebie vamp fans but this nice no fang sparkling skin vampire destroys what the vampire was. I think the vampire being seductive is fine but at the same time it needs to be extreemly dangerous and evil. My favourite vampires are of course Dracula and the Interview with the Vampire vampires. I thought they captured the vampire very well.
End Rant
Can you stake my heart?
