How many of you feel tired when the big night comes around? I'm so excited in the off seasons that I get bored when the halloween actually comes. How do you deal with it? Is that bad or is that good?
Right now I'm in my pre-planning stages where I have most of the stuff set in stone. It's just when October comes I kinda get sick of it all. Should I start this early so I'm not bummed out or is this a normal feeling?

That has yet to happen! I usually feel like there's still so much more I planned on doing that I still want to get done.
Maybe start later if you get burned out on it! Or don't work on as much stuff in the off season??Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.

This time of year I spend planning, repairing & renovating existing props etc, as well as gathering materials and ideas for new stuff..looking for bargains etc.
The major prop building and planning starts in April when the weather is a bit more condusive to working outside.
I usually take a few weeks break in August, to recharge the batteries before going at it full tilt again in september, for any final bits and last minuite alterations.

Tired by the time Halloween arrives, yes. Tired of Halloween, hell no!
My advice is that if you need to, take a time-out and only work on Halloween-related projects when you're really in the mood to; I know that anytime I feel 'forced' to do something, I care much less about the task at hand.

By the time Halloween comes and goes, I am just thankful that I have survived another one and I am ready to pack it all up and get away from it for a few months. I am not permitted to talk about Halloween in my house until Feb. Halloween here is a month long event with people coming by the house the entire month with the big rush on Halloween with over 2700 TOTers! I have been working on next years stuff since Oct/Nov only because I took this past year off.

See, my problem is if I don't work on it now or if I "take a brake" I'll never get back to finishing on time. And it's not that I work on this stuff everyday cause I don't I guess I just get sick of things to quick. All that work for one night. wow baby.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

heck, I stress that I'm so far behind already, that I'll never catch up and get done on time...then about the 15th of October, I start getting a ton of new ideas that are too late to implement

You shouldn't think of it as all that work for one night. I think of it as a fun hobby that I have all year round. And on one night of the year I get to share my hobby with the rest of my neighborhood. It gives me something fun to do all year around. In the winter I look for things to make. Right now my main thing is how im going to do my Jason display this halloween. So I will maul that over for a while.
