I have never done a big display before, for halloween anyway, but I am stumped. How do most of you decorate? Do you focus on trick-o-treat or just the season? See by me trick-o-treat is during the day time but I really like animated light displays. I want to do something mainly for the kids but lights don't show too well during the day. I am open to any suggestions or opinions. Thanks!

I do a both: season decorating and Trick or Treat. For season decorating I do a graveyard, Flying Crank Ghost and Hallowindow in the upstairs window. On Halloween night, I do a walk-through haunt in my garage. But, I believe that if I just kept the normal outside display and also handed out candy, the kids would still love it. The haunt walk-thru just cranks it to Level 11 and that the way I roll
Here's a video of my season decorating before Halloween night:

The kids that came to my house even the scared ones loved it they had to be told by parents it was time to leave.
I do graveyard-ghost-animated people-witches and flood lights.
