Thread: please teach me how to shade

I am working with Styrofoam. I have no clue how to do the shading or carving. I am looking at several pictures and it is not helping to learn.

I have a wood burning tool and a dremel with all the accessories.

I would appreciate it if someone could walk me step by step through how to shade and carve details onto a tombstone.

PM me and I'll walk you through my way of doing it. it might take a couple days, but I'll snap some pics to help explain stuff. It can be a practice run for an eventual tutorial. You can learn what you want to know;i can get some feedback on my writing/explaining.

Pm sent, I am looking forward to posting a tutorial when I get done. This is the one step in the process I am having writers or an artistic block.

Don't forget to use the "Wet technique" on aging foam tombstones.

Herman Secret has a great tutorial on here, I used his method and it worked good, check it out!
