Every year we all add a new prop (or 2.. or 3.. or...).
This year I added another fog machine (chauvet 1250), a strobe (chauvet s2000), some minions web flood/spots.
Surprisingly, I think the best bang-for-the-buck, as well as most scene-enhancing prop was the LED flicker candles from Minions Web.
They were pretty inexpensive and added a whole new ambiance to the place. A few in the graveyard flickering against the tombstones, a few for path lights. We even took two of them and positioned them in a mask as eyeballs.. flickering eyeballs! I'm going to buy at least another 10 for next year.
So having been through their inaugural Halloween, which one of this year's additions to your haunt was your favorite???

My ghost and crypt (supposed to be a flying crank ghost, but the motor stuff was giving me fits) is my favorite this year.

The thing that got us the most reaction was this:

My hubby in his Michael Myers costume. We got real coveralls and I aged them and splattered them with black and red paint and the mask is one of the most authentic ones we've ever seen. Hubby can stand perfectly still for long stretches of time and scared the crap out of the older TOTs and even a few parents. He would either slowly turn his head, or take a few strides towards them and off they'd go screaming.
Lots of people wanted their pics taken with Myers.

I thought it was going to be the VSA singing pumpkins but they went over kind of bla. In the nights that preceeded Halloween they went over well because people got to stay around and watch all the sequences. No biggie.
The motion sensor on the coffin was the big hit. It activated when someone walked up the driveway and turned on the light and the power to the speakers so it started cackling and the lights were all flickering. That sent several back to mommy....

I bought Batch 12x from frightcatalog on Monday and he arrived on Thursday so I quick made him a "pod" to place him in next to my toxic barrel fog chiller. He wasn't working, but I figured it out this morning so I didn't get any pictures or video until now
That part was my favorite, but it should look really good next year. Anyway here's the video of him inside now (vids not so great).

My best were my new Inflatables, a Cemetery Arch, a Cemetery Scene and a Skeleton on Organ, plus the Party Tent with Goodies.

I agree with the OP.
This years lighting and fog were dramatically upgraded.
We ditched the costume store fog and lighting, and we rented an American DJ 1700 HD fog machine. At the last moment I pulled out the hole saws and made a chiller from an old cooler that was on the side of the house.
We were blown away by the amount of fog this unit produces. Combined with the makeshift chiller, it poured out to where you could actually hide in it! The night had NO wind, and it literally fogged up both of our neighbors houses and you could see some of the floating fog in the street lamp all the way across the street.
We also rented an ADJ Emerald Laser, and it looked fantastic cutting through the fog, as did a sound activated moonflower light.
These three visual effects combined with some of our friends doing a scaled down version of the "Thriller" dance to the sounds blasting from a Fender Passport, and we had a crowd everytime we fired it up.
But then again, our neigborhood is so popular at Halloween, that the local schools actually bus kids in to trick or treat there.
Cheers, until next year!

My floating lantern was the big hit this year. Simple to make, a bit difficult to suspend (almost lost my head when the galvanized wire broke out of its hooks) but it really looked great.

Any pics of this? Do you have another thread on it?
It's funny how you can spend a lot of time (and $$$) on some props and it ends up being something simple that makes a smash hit. Can't get any cheaper than your friends or better half pitching in!
FG your FCG looks great. What are using for blacklight? Fluorescent?

My modifed bottomless pit went over well. i is always a big hit. The people who come on a regular basis were happy I add something new to it. The kids loved my hands on lab table they thought it was fun. The new creature crate was a big hit as well.
