Went out TOT'ing with the boys' tonight and had a couple of things really rub me raw...
Neighborhood was absolutely packed with kids, and even with parents, you know how kids are. Had a few younger drivers, screaming through the neighborhood not even bothering to slow down! I was livid over that.
Houses that had Halloween decorations up, and lights on...but no answer to the door... not that big of a deal.
and my biggest pet peeve, even though I know some people don't have a problem with it, but kids, and I'm talking early teens maybe say 11-14 or so, maybe a little older, TOT'ing in their regular clothes...not even attempting a costume of any type. That to me is aggravating as all hell. It takes away from the spirit of Halloween.
I also saw a couple of adults with them, also TOT'ing...but the house they were up at told them "NO" this is for kids only... I applaud them for standing up and not allowing them the tricks!!
Just a little bothersome to me...
Anyone else have pet peeves and Halloween aggravation?

I'm with you on those...
I wanted to shoot at a couple of the trucks that blew though at full speed tonight.
I combat the no costume deal with raisins. No costume. You get raisins. Everyone else got full sized candy bars.

I had a few disappointments this year.
I had 2 people trip because the decided to go off of the lit marked path. The crossed ways with the stakes and ropes holding up an inflatable.
Another young kid, maybe 6 yo, came by, no costume, fine, he was a neighbors grandson I believe. He came back a second time in a group of costumed kids and I accidentally gave him another bag. Now a third time he comes to walk through and I watch him go up to the candy bucket and take a bag. I said to him to please not come back, he had no costume and already got 3 bags of candy. Later I catch him trying to sneak through the bushes! I tell him not to go through there so he does not trip on my extension cords. A foruth time he comes up with a friend that had not been to my house before. And hand the one kid candy and the other kid says, what about me? I said 'You came by 3 times and took candy, I cant give you anymore because it is not fair to the other kids.' Then looking at the display with his friend he starts talking about me yelling at him. The nerve!
Gosh, that was some rant.

The teenagers wearing their football "costumes" also make me mad. I was so afraid that my 6 year old daughter would get trampled by these fools that I had to stick close to her side whenever I saw a pack running towards us.

My big disappointment was a group of probably 20 somethings that were escorting some small children that stole a presidential yard sign out of a neighbor's yard.
I was so shocked that I didn't say anything. (and a bit of chicken too
)
I don't care what political views you have - but stealing a sign just because you don't agree with it IN FRONT OF YOUR CHILDREN??? Asses.

We had a teenager that kept speeding through our subdivision in a mustang. They'd leave and 20 mins they'd be back zooming through with kids in the streets.. I had enough, by the 4th time they stopped 5 houses down... I had my eye on them... The guy squeals tires and heads down the street toward my house at full speed... I pulled my patrol car in front of him and lit him up... Lets just say it was Trick or Ticket for him!

LOL. I hope you taught the PUNK a lesson, and gave him a real "treat"...a hefty ticket!! That'll teach 'em...kids nowadays...some nerve...and as for the so-called football "costumes"...um....no....can you say "LAME"?...same goes for any kind of sports outfit...especially if, say 6 or 8 come at the same time....looks like a "team" to me....and the "No costume" rule is in effect w/ me too...they get raisins, or a pencil.

The kid who, when I presented a small plate of candy for him to choose, scraped the whole thing into his bag. (I know, I know...should have seen that one coming. But the presentation seemed the right thing for a vampire to do. And all the other kids were polite about taking one or two pieces.)

I went down to Mission Bay to go to Belmont Park (it was closed!) and me and my friend Ruben kept getting harrassed by these guys. I was dressed as an evil clown, Ruben was dressed as a werewolf mad scientist. The guys kept asking for my gloves and yelling things out at us, we were so afraid we were going to get jumped because the guys were obviously on something, that was just left and went back home.
