Thread: Anybody else "late" with the decorating?

We usually have all of the hanging props, lighting, graveyard (fence/columns/basic stones) out by this point.

I managed to get our lights on the garage and porch switched out, and that is IT for outside. We had some friends over this weekend, and one of them was shocked at the lack of Halloween.

We have our crypt we're trying like crazy to finish, but it's been slow going as we keep having to do regular errands and chores around the house the last couple of weekends (lost lots of time due to Hurricane Ike).

I've had two neighbors so far ask when we're getting started.

We still have a waist-high pile of broken limbs and trash from Hurricane Ike on our front curb. The last of the outside damage was repaired this weekend, (thus taking up some of our weekend prop-building time).

My hubby has promised that this coming weekend is strictly "Halloween prop/setup" time. I feel like we're so far behind!

Please tell me that other on here are running a little behind with getting their stuff out! (or even better, that you're still trying to finish lots of projects...)

Misery loves company, you know!

We barely have any stuff out. We are having some landscaping done that should have been done already but is taking forever so we can't do much until it's done, in the next week and a half or so. We haven't even started on the fcg or coffin! But we won't have those out until one or two nights before Halloween anyway. I am itching to put out my tombstones and lights and stuff. But it has to wait until that darned landscaping is done. Thankfully, we picked resilient stuff to plant so even when it is done, we can tromp all over it to get decorating done.

No worries! I don't even have a single spider webbing up yet!! Things have been really crazy the last couple of weeks. This week I will get everything up, but I too feel so far behind. I managed to get alot of our decorations and props sorted out (My living room and dining room are Halloween disasters atm) but thats about it. Most of my focus has been going toward planning the parties (I'm in charge of 3, yes 3 this year!) All that is left to do is get everything set up now!!

Lotsa Halloween month left Frankie's Girl...I promise we will get it accomplished (We always do right?). I work better under pressure anyway.

I have my funkins and pumpkins out and that's about it. I was in the hospital for most of last week (unexpectantly) and I'm off to a late start.

I decided to wait until the irrigation system is turned off this weekend. They will be blowing out our sprinkler system and it would be a wet mess anyway.

My back patio is bursting with things. I'm so impatient. I keep driving around the neighborhood to see if anyone else has started.

The parties are planned the invitations are out -- everything is set....but I haven't put the first decoration up! I am usually finished inside before October 1st and the outside begins on 10/1. We've been renovating, traveling with business and caught up with family committements. Not only am I behind....I am feeling overwhelmed. Everytime I open up the bins it's scary! "Where do I put it all and how do I mix things up so they look different than last year?" I need a cocktail just thinking about it! I love decorating for Halloween....think about it all year long...dream about! It's a bit frustrating to find myself dragging my feet. Neighbors, friends and even my kids are wondering what's going on. I need to remind myself that our first party was put together in a week and everything worked out. It's so much work I like to have a while to enjoy it ... maybe I'll keep it up until Christmas!

So how's that for a little misery?

Now for what I really need!

I'm still putting walls back together, and getting boxes out of the attic.

I am sooooo far behind this year. I don't have a single halloween thing out yet.

My to do list reads like War and Peace and nothing is checked off. I haven't even pulled anything out of storage yet.

I know exactly what you mean. I haven't done a lick yet either! Everytime I come up with a plan, I think of new stuff I want to do...then stuff I ought to do...then more and more and more...and then I get like an old computer and go blue screen and freeze up!

Way behind here as well. A week without power after IKE followed by more uncooperative weather has had a negative effect on our preparedness.

I'm behind this year also. By now, I've usually decorated my front bay window. Nothing out yet. And I've been so exhausted too with other things.
