I came across the American Gothic Photo and thought hey this is something that would be fun to do in the Halloween Forum, so come on guys and gals lets make our own American Gothic rendition.

I have posted the original picture and some variations that I found online. What can you come up with? I would like to see YOU in at least one American Gothic Photo Setting.. Come on you know you wanna play.

Our Spirit store has a pair of statues of them this year (American Gothic).

The American Gothic painting actually depicts a Farmer and his daughter.
I always thought it was his wife (like most) until I read an arcticle about it in the paper.

I'm still no good at all with Gimp, and I don't have access to my machine with Photoshop on it, but here's a quick something I was able to whip up:
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...

Almost, but not quite. The model Wood used for the female (his own sister Nan) apparently became embarrassed at being depicted as the wife of someone twice her age and began telling people that the painting was of a man and his daughter, a point on which Wood remained silent.
