This is a challenge for all Halloween fans that care.

Many people across our nation are in need of help.

In response to Hurricane Ike's landfall along the Gulf Coast, the Red Cross is providing shelter, food and emotional support for thousands in need.

In addition, due to the current situation of our country, many have faced major hardships. Many charitable organizations can help.

If every Halloween fan gave only $5 more to the Red Cross or your favorite charitable organization, WE can make a difference.

I challenge everyone that cares to give. Give $5. Give $20. Whatever you can do.

Then post in this thread "I care. I gave" or something along those lines. Please be honest. No need to mention how much.

If you want to spread the word and get others to give, you can get a banner at: Halloween For Charity - We Care to post on your blog or site.

If you cannot give. It is okay. If you can, remember, just give up what you can.

What a wonderful jester Larry, thanks so you so much for caring.

Here is a link to our family cabin, or what once was, in Gilchrist, TX. This was my wife's grandmother’s permanent residence and we spent the past 25yrs or so with birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings. It is a very sad and emotional experience to walk around the debris and see years of family belongings tossed around. The hardest part I had was seeing kids toys and stuffed animals lying around knowing that so many have no homes to come back to.

Our house suffered damage as well but is livable, so I am thankful for that. Since Sept. 11th till now I have been working 12-18 hrs per day as a first responder. It's a shame that the national media pays no attention to the smaller communities and the devastation they have been dealt. But we are here, and life must go on.

I appreciate all the PM's for concern and our well being, I am truly honored to be a part of this "family" and look forward to the many years to come.

Come on everyone. I know more than a couple of people care. You cannot even donate $5 to charity?

I care. We donate to several charities on a regular basis. And I just recently gave to the Red Cross.

Barry, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I had no idea. I hope you are able to recover soon.
BTW, I totally agree with you about the media.

    Hi Larry,

We give throughout the year. We raised over $250 for the cancer bike ride, gave to march of dimes, donate to the Aliveness Project and do fundraising for the Minnesota Aids Project and the Aliveness program a couple time during the year. We constantly give to the vietnam veterans of America. For my b'day I'm telling people to give to the humane society instead of gifts for me.
