on my way to gloucester, mass. we stopped in Salem, famous for its witches i had to. we did pretty much every witch museum and dungeon they had, all were pretty cool as far as information and production. the frankestein's lab haunted house dissapointed me, a bunch of kids dressed in black jumping out behind curtains with little props to remind you you are in a lab. the best part IMO is the Nightmare Gallery, an unreal "museum" filled with life sized top notch props from your favorite classic horror movies. . the Count Orlok, proprietor, has been collecting these props since he was 13 years old and has done a classy job at showing them to the public. check out their page Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery, the myspace page has pics.

heres some graveyard pics, someone lives in that house.

I went there a few years ago with a basic costume on and I had a great time. This year, the girlfriend and I are going all out with prosthetics and we can't wait.

In my area halloween is just another day. Salem keeps the holiday fun thriving.

oh, I'm so jealous! I LOVE Salem! It is so beautiful and has such amazing history!

When we went, most of the tours were closed for the season (December) so we only saw a few of the tours. I'll have to go when most of them are open, and definitely want to see the Nightmare Gallery.

I don't live far from Salem, but I never realized you could go there for Halloween until the salesclerk at BIG LOTS told me about it -- she said it's great and her family goes there every year! I'd definitely like to go this year!

yeah, most of the halloween festivities seem to start oct 1 and on. they even have a retro zombie party type of thing with 60', 70' and 80's music. pretty crazy place. Count Orlok also said he plans on expanding to 5 more features i believe before october. place is awesome, plain and simple.

I've always wanted to go to Salem but really the whole witch trial aspect is very sad to me. Those innocent people were tortured and murdered at the hands of a bunch of paranoid, pious idiots. Now if they had been real witches like the ones in Hocus Pocus, that would be totally cool!

I love the house! I would so love to live in a house with its own cemetery!

I have always wanted to go to Salem, although I can't help but feel it will be very emotional..

ME TOO! There are a quite a few of those here in New England. That's why I love turning the front yard into a cemetery every year!
