There are alot of magazines at this time of year with Halloween themed covers or articles on decorating, making costumes, etc...
But what is the best magazine for the Halloween obsessed? Is Martha Stuart Living really all that?

The sad thing is that many of the magazines with Halloween on the cover, don't offer much. Some are just a few craft projects, while others have larger articles on Halloween party planning. It's best to look through the magazine first before purchasing.

Martha Stewart is mostly about more elegant dinner parties but if you are looking for articles about props there's always Haunted Attraction Magazine. Some years back I got a magazine called Happy Halloween Magazine. It had how to articles pictures of professional and non-professional hauntes, cartoons and interviews with actors who have played in horror movies and stuff like that but they stopped selling it though. Too bad it was cool. Just look through them and you will know what style you like. I personally like everything for different reasons. I'm not too much into the cutesy stuff right now. But I bet when I have grandchildren I will start looking at that stuff as well, just as I did when my kids were small.

I think the best one this year that I have seen is the Better Homes and Gardens Halloween edition. I am not that keen on Martha's this year.

I really like Martha's stuff, but just hate that she re-uses the same projects from years past! I wish she would come up with a new holiday mag with her style; she does have some lovely projects.

I totally agree! BH&G is the best I've found so far. The October issue of Martha is ok but not as good as previous years.

    I usually buy around 5 - 10 Halloween-issue magazines a year. This year? Maaaaaybe 3 or 4. The 2008 selection is lacking.

I just got back from Barnes & Noble, they had a little end display with a lot of cutesy Halloween books... Extreme Pumpkin Carving, party ideas...etc. etc.

I did find 2 real good magazines...

A Better Homes & Garden Halloween Tricks & Treats magazine...the whole mag is full of Halloween...not just a couple pages. This one even has a good description of building tombstones and coffins... really nice mag

A Womans Day Halloween Celebrations magazine...another one dedicating the whole magazine to Halloween. Cheap and wonderful party decorations and ideas.. A section for a no kids allowed adult Halloween party.... this is a really nice one too...

I do agree that the BH&G magazine is the best..
