Parents tend to stay at the sidewalk so I install a drop down spider from one of my trees and every now and then, I scare the bejesuss out of em.
Also, if I know the parents, I'll give the kids extra sugar candy and just grin at the parents.

Last year I had an EXCELLENT werewolf costume. I stood at the exit of the Haunt, on a board (the way my home made monsters were displayed when not on the grass.).
Some parents would wander up the driveway from the side walk to see more of the Haunt up close. Just before they could realize those were real eyes behind the mask I'd raise my hands (paws?), growl fiersely and move a half step toward them. Lots of screams from the mothers and semi-controlled curses from most of the fathers.
Those parents who walked little ones through the haunt always get a peaceful pass from me, unless they start to poke me to see if I'm real. House rules - never scare todlers or mothers holding little ones.
HOWEVER, the nature of our haunt draws lots of parents through it and I get them on the way out.
Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html
Thanks

Lets just say anyone who is withing 25 feet of my property is not safe from being scared, or atleast startled if the timing is right. Hard to explain so this halloween I will get some video of what I'm talking about.
Build it and they will come.
