Woot!
I'm back baby!
Power came back on! I have my internets up and running, and lots of cleaning to do, but I'm going to be cruising around and try to catch up on all of the posts I've missed!
Thread: um, hi... we survived Ike!

Why is she at your house? Does she think she's helping? If it were my MIL I would DIE!!!
But my MIL is like the one on Everybody Loves Raymond. It may sound like an compliment to the untrained ear but it's actually an insult. I do not envy you right now and I'm not talking about the hurricane.

So glad you are ok! I have a lot of family in Houston. My husband was born and raised there. His mom still lives there and she just got her electricity back yesterday. What a mess. I can't even imagine the devastation Galveston sustained. Was a favorite vacationing spot of my family's when I was younger. Will be a while till everything is back to normal, if that. Again, from one Texan to another, glad you are doing well!

Glad to read your post and know that you and family ( minus MIL) are okay. Sorry you got IKE. Here in Florida, it seems we are on Hurricane watch alot...and we have had our share of rain and flooding. There are still some places in east central Florida that houses are in 2 and 3 foot of water from FAE. It has not receded yet for them yet. So I can imagine that some places in Texas will be the same. However, it is GREAT NEWS that you guys don't have that problem. Clean up is a bitch tho. Sorry.
Yea! The halloween stuff is safe. LOL !Today the Pond. Tomorrow The World!
All this has Happened Before and will Happen Again

FG, glad you're safe and that the damage wasn't too major! Being no where near the ocean, I cannot begin to imagine what going through a hurricane is like but you KNOW it's bad when there are 75 mph winds in Kentucky because of one! I hope your clean up isn't too bad but it's obviously not hindering your haunt work, so at least that's good!

FrankiesGirl,
Glad to hear that you're OK.
Just try to bite your tongue and tell her (MIL) she can go homw now.
Yikes, now youve been thru hell and back, now an annoying witch to deal with.
hang in there, it can only get worse before it gets better. I went thru Hurricane Wilma 3 years ago, and we (my GF and I) had no help, not even from her aunt who I am good friends with
for almost 15 yrs. now!!

FrankiesGirl, I'm glad you survived IKE. What suprised me is we got hit pretty good up here in Missouri too. I would have thought ole Ike would have calmed down more than he did.
