Geez, I should have known I was spending too much time on ebay! I've been collecting some of the older pieces for the last few months, all the while thinking I still had plenty of room for my display on top of my piano. Guess not! I started setting up today and had room for all the buildings if they all touched, (which I hate) but no room at all for the smaller animated pieces or any figurines! And being a detail person, this just would not do! GRRRRR!
So I have to either leave some pieces out (horrors!) or expand. I guess I'll expand to another location but its so hard - I feel like I'm splitting up a family!
Sigh...

Ohh Madame, I feel your pain....my village started out fitting nicely on our mantle--this year it will occupy our mantle, and the top of our entertainment center, AND the top of our china cabinet. What else am I gonna do?, there's NO WAY I can choose pieces to leave out of the display and no way I can stop buying them.
Sure, it's splitting up the family somewhatly, but they can still see eachother from all their perches and there'll be a little Halloween everywhere I look while sitting in the living room.

I got everything out of the boxes last week to discover that I don't have space for it all this year. I'm having a birthday party the week before, so I didn't want to put items where they might be damaged.
I spent yesterday getting about 1/3 of my items back in their boxes.

OK, I think I can live with it this way if I don't buy anything else this year (ha! I crack myself up!). I moved Dr Stretch & Pull, Dr Tingle, The Blood Bank , and a few figurines to the top of my computer cabinet and it looks pretty good there. Everything else stayed on top of the piano. Still, I've got a few figurines that I can't find a place for and its driving me crazy cause I feel like I have to use everything! If I get anything else, I'll have to take over the entertainment center too. My problem is, I love all the little detail pieces and forget that they take up space just like the buildings.

I have the same problem, a growing city, so last year I got a large board, painted it brown, and set it on top of a smaller table, to expand my city. And I left some extra wood to add on if the city keeps growing, and it probably will!

My son set ours up on a 7.5' X 3.5' table in the family room and don't have room for the Egyptian setup. That'll have to go on a small table in the living room.

We just started collecting this year, thanks to those awesome Michael's 40% off coupons posted here and sales at Michael's. They are currently split between the entryway cabinet and the audio tower in the living room. I'm thinking we might get one more and that will go in the dining room, somewhere. I hate to see what happens next year.
13 is my lucky number

I've officially maxed out my space as well. I only have one spot in the house where I can set it up so I'm going to have to stop buying until I move into a bigger place.
On a brighter note - I know the layout of the landscape I'll have to build when I move!

Wow - I finally got my main display arranged and lit up! I gotta get new batteries for the battery powered pieces of course but everything else looks great! My only disappointment is in The Phantom Station, one of my new pieces. The flashing lights on it are so bright that it makes it hard to see the other buildings. I'm gonna have to figure out something to cover those lights so I don't go blind!
