You want to do a grave yard scene with some ground hugging fog to it, but you only have $80 for a fog machine. Would you buy 1 good one, or 3 or 4 of the cheap ones for more flexibility?

I know plenty of you have done grave yard scene's, how did you approach it and what were your experiences?

The fog machine itself isn't as important as how you chill the fog. The ones made out of an old cooler don't work very well. The best design is here. I know because I've built both and the coil design in the trash can is 10 times better.

Using ice will do "ok" but DRY ICE will make it grab hold of the ground and never let go!

You also need a way to disperse it on the ground evenly. One of these helps

Easy to make too. Its just a box, sealed with a slit on the bottom and a hole for the coil coming from the trash can. Works great.

As far as the fog machine itself, I bought this one and it works great

However, the cheaper ones actually at least a few years ago would stay on continuously where as the more expensive ones go in stages (ie fog, then pause a bit, then fog again). Granted, you can shorten it but its not the same.

And dont forget the fog juice! I've had great luck with Froggy's freezin fog juice.
