Ok, heres the deal....I am looking for about 25-30 skulls that are flat that can be mounted to the white trim (facia or however you spell it? duh!) on my house. The idea is that it will look like skull moulding all around the peaks of my house. I need them to be about 5" tall or so and want them 3d. I thought about getting standard foam skulls and cutting them in half to have a flat mounting back. I can't find any for a reasonable price however, and wanted to see if anyone had any ideas where I could find these. Thanks for your help in advance!

Dollar tree has em or at least did, the one by me had them, I only got two and went back for more and they were not there. I had to go to target and get their 5 dollars ones. I am buring a hole in the bottom of the skulls and sticking them into 5 to 6 foot sticks, then adding blood and sticking them in the ground, they look awsome.

Perhaps you can make your own?

A quick plaster mold of one of your foam skulls (since it's just the front, making the mold should be pretty simple.
A jar of latex rubber - anywhere from $8-$15 dollars.
Lay in a thin coat of latex, let it dry (about a day), then use spray foam (about $5 bucks a can - can probably get 8-10 skulls from a can) while the latex rubber is in the mold (will keep the rubber from distorting).
Foam will take a couple of hours to set up - leave it in a day to really allow some good curing.

Pull out, and there's one skull for your fascia - make a few plaster molds (a bucket of plaster of paris is $5 - $6 bucks), and you can do a few at a time.
Just paint, and mount - nice and light too.

Admittedly, this will be a lot of work, and take a lot of time, but if you make 5 molds, you can do 5 every 2 days (if you take your time), and have 30 in less than 2 weeks, at the cost of about $30 bucks.
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...

2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...

opp's just saw the quantity and budget. $250.00 - $300.00 probably a little much.

I agree with making your own, but I would do so a bit differently, by making a latex mold, then making the skulls out of the plaster.

Can of latex can be bought from Michaels for about $12. 40lb bag of plaster for about $14. $26 Total.

Just take your foam skull, cut it in half the way you want it, place that on some wax paper and seal the thing with either some mold release (can be bought at michaels) or some clear coat spray paint. Then, paint the latex over the skull. Let dry, do the second coat, let dry, do a third. (I'ld mix in some cheese cloth on the 3rd layer). Let it dry, and peel it off, you have a mold.

Use a hair dryer to dry the layers, you could get it painted in a day, I'ld let the complete thing dry at least a day before peeling it off.

Then, just pour in the plaster into the mold. The advantage of making the skulls plaster is plaster sets up in 30 minutes, pop it out, pour a second. You can make a bunch in a day. I'ld guess a can of the latex should be able to make 2 molds as well.

Here's my collection of skulls waiting to be colored.
