Thank god other people have noticed this too. I thought it was just me being cheap or something. Every couple of weeks the Good Will near my house used to have a half price day and then everything seemed reasonable. But now they have stopped having sales and I don't go anymore. Yard sales can be a lot better, but it's hit and miss.

Here the first Saturday of the month everything is 50 percent off and I always try to goto that. I usually find some good things, but lately stuff is getting higher and higher. The prices for items depend on the person whose pricing them usually and at one point we had an insane woman pricing things, so I complained to the manager and they got someone new and things are better now. The manager said oh she was new .... someone should have been watching over here in my opinion.

Have you checked a different GW? The discretionary pricing of decorations and household items are left to each store. All it takes is some loony person in the pricing department to price items far beyond their reasonable value.
At one GW store, a Target toy is priced at $2.00... at another store, the SAME exact toy will by marked $5.99! It can be quite frustrating.

Being a smart shopper is what its all about. Target I think is the best place for deals. Target will keep reducing their prices in a shorter amount of time. J C Penny will have 70% the lowest price sales several times a year. Our local goodwill is so over price it's not even funny. A give away lab coat $10.00. You know the kind with drug maker's name on it. This year is no different last years dollr tree costumesselling for $3.00 each. I do check ut yard sales too, but people think their stuff is worth more than it really worth.
Don't die around me if you don't wont to end up on the front lawn on HALLOWEEN
