Well here in the UK our candy is quite different, and I sadly never went TOTing growing up, but last year I did have the absolute pleasure of being sent a parcel of Halloween candy by Cadaverino, and got the chance to sample some of the things you guys and gals have mentioned. (Also got some from a couple of other transatlantic friends over the years so have sampled quite a bit now lol!)

Loved: Nerds and Pixi Stix!!! (Ok, not strictly Halloween candy but goodness me anything that sour can't be a bad thing lol) oh and of course Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (I have a slight addiction), Sour Skittles, Sugar Babies and Halloween M&Ms

Liked: Candy Corn/Autumn Mix (although not as much as my OH did - he nearly ate the whole bag haha!), Tootsie Rolls

Didn't like: Hershey's Kisses (too sugary & powdery), Popcorn balls - I prefer my popcorn hot and buttery hehe ^_^;

My favourite Halloween candies that we get in the UK are the Halloween chocolate range they do at Thornton's Chocolatiers and the Haribo Spooky Mix

i second MB - our sweets are very different here.
i try to buy lots of bags of jelly sweets in monster/horror/insect shapes. I got some eyeball bubble gums & gummy shapes, lollypops, anything that looks halloween related - then i open them all up & make up bags with a bit of everything in them. i like to use black & orange crepe paper wrapped in a bag shape & tied with a purple ribbon. i have relatives in us so i usually get sent candy corn & add a little bit of that to each bag - the kids here love it as we just don't get it here!

when we were kids it was called 'guisin - (going round in disguise) & we didn't say trick or treat - it was 'are you taking in the guisers?'

mostly it was peanuts or fruit - candy/toffee apples if you were really lucky. oh & treacle toffee

i hated getting those halloween coins that were made out of the cheap chocolate. ick so gross.
candy corn, smarties, the black and orange wrapper candies, anything with coconut and butterfingers were all pretty lame as well.

i liked most chocolate, anything gummy and caramel.

Neccos YUKK!! Have to say Snickers for sure!! Still a favorite. I am 40 and I remember being a kid and having the house on the corner from us would have the whole back porch set up with tables of full size candy bars and taffy apples and sandwhiches and cans of pop, my how things change! Ya just can't trust people anymore sad. I also remember a couple years ago my 3 kids came home with a handful of potatoechips in there bags from some goof down the street LOL!!

I didn't like any of the hard candy. I liked just about everything else (including candy corn, which is one of my favorites, and the Mary Janes.)
