Well I just got back from my best friend's wedding, and it got the grey matter churning... we've got a few years here where the 31st is falling on a weekend, and I'm wondering if anyone is doing the Halloween wedding this year or next? Obviously this would be my dream day to get hitched, but since the norm is for a Saturday ceremony, has any of our previous Halloween Brides done it during the week, just to have that 10/31 date? (I would!)

Wow I'm so jealous. I really want to get married on Halloween, but don't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.

I'm getting married next month on Oct.18. Halloween was an option, but we felt it would take away from the holiday as we plan to take a short trip every year to celebrate our anniversary. Halloween is a little on the back burner this year because it's so close to our wedding, but we are going to be glad it will be a normal night to spend together (for the first time as a husband and wife!)

I like that idea too Daytek, and congrats! Any interesting honeymoon travel plans?
(Ooh, I'm heading up to your town for the garlic festival, gotta get some bunches to decorate the 'witches kitchen' theme!)

I want to set the date for October 31st, but at the same time I don't like the idea of sharing my anniversary with my favorite holiday. I want to be able to celebrate both exclusively on their own dates. I'm also thinking October 24th. My fiancé has a problem with that because there are so many birthdays that month, there's his birthday, both my parents' and his niece's. Plus, Oktoberfest, Halloween, hopefully, someday a Halloween party, our annual Halloween bar-hop and we celebrate autumn the first weekend in October, that he doesn't want another celebration thrown in there. I see his point but I'd also like to think that October could be our month to just go crazy and party it up.

No, but here's something related that I had to share, as I found it very amusing (I spotted it in this year's Fear Finder). 'Wolfman Mac', the host of Nightmare Sinema, is apparently legally able to marry people and is hosting a 'mass wedding' at Erebus Haunted House on Halloween.
I think the idea of being ordained by a horror host is interesting, but with all the people getting married at the same time (probably quite a few I would guess), it takes away from the 'special day' aspect of it, in my opinion. "Yeah, we got married along with a thousand other couples by the host of a horror TV show that most people have never heard of..."

We thought about getting married on Nov 1 this year. That way, all the spooky decorations will still be out, but it's after Halloween so if we wanted to take a trip for our anniversary (or honeymoon) then we could go AFTER Halloween.
But I doubt everything will come together that quickly, so who knows.

I was married last year on Halloween. I loved it lots of guests dressed in unusual costumes and this year we'll do the normal trick or treating and probably go out to celebrate after our trick or treaters are done and then on Saturday. I loved it honestly and am very glad we did it on that day.
