Just came from Walgreens and they of course had some of their candy on sale, and with coupons I was able to pick up most of my candy for Halloween, my question is... I will pay .16 cents per ounce for Chocolate, I was wondering what limits others put on their Candy purchases??

Thats a great question.
We did glow braclets last year at 400 of them then went to candy.
Trying to plan this year on amount is hard.
Knowing there is so many great places to buy from and save.
My limit this year is 500 glow braclets and candy....200 bucks and that it. after that lights out.
Now u got me thinking...how much candy can I get for a 100 bucks?
This is for sure an awesome thread and thinking.

I don't know if I have a limit, I just try to go cheap, I need total around 800 pieces of candy, so I odn't do candy bars, at home I have so few that I get those but for the park I get a mixture. I just got 2 bags of individually wrapped twizzlers with 60 pieces in a bag, and 52 smarties( I like those for the little ones) for $5.oo. I didn't think was too bad. I wait til the store near me puts bulk on sale, and get a bunch there. I have never figured out the per ounce limit.
I have flying monkeys- and I'm not afraid to use them!

Being on a Friday this year, we're figuring higher than usual numbers which means well over 500 TOT's. We normally factor the weather forecast in as well, but I'll probably spend in the neighborhood of 60-70 bones on candy bars.

I normally get tons of different kinds of candy. I always try to get some of the cheaper things, but not the stuff that I know as a kid I was always getting that was just the same. I do usually get a bag of suckers and some of the toosie rolls with the smarties. I always get a bag of the suckers with loop handles for small children. I then buy what I consider the good candy: various mini candy bars all name brand ones), milk duds, nerds, m&m's (all the really good stuff). I remember being a kid and getting hardly anything but maryjanes, tootsie rolls and things like peppermints.
I also saw large boxes of full size candybars (various kinds like milkyways and 3 musketeers at a good price those at walmart. Those who give out full sized ones might want to check there.

Seems like it all goes on sale if you are willing to wait until the last minute.

Only one from the Sunday Paper Russell Stoffers buy one get one, but they put that one out a couple of weeks ago. I used the Walgreen ones that were in the flyer, and than I had a Coupon that Walgreens emailed me that was only good for Friday & Saturday that was $10 off a $40 purchase.
If you have not signed up for walgreens emails I would suggest it.Man cannot live on bread alone.... (unless he is in a cage and that is all you feed him.)

I guess I don't really have a limit on how much to buy because every year is infact diffrent. I bought a cardboard coffin. It's 6 foot so I was going to put a blucky in that, then just fill the rest with candy. So however many bags it takes to fill a coffin I guess.
halloween is a super cool holiday.

Last year I think I spent about $50-60 on candy. I filled up 150 bags of candy with 4-5 pieces each. It was a mixture of mini chocolate bars, tootsie rolls and a pencil or tattoo. I'll probably do the same thing this year, but I'll up it to 200. I also bought some glow bracelets. Because last year I think several kids went into the haunted house a couple of times and each time took a bag of candy. Since I wasn't there to personally hand out the candy. But this year I have plenty of help, and with each child getting a glow bracelet, that will tell me which TOTs have already gotten candy from me.
There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing.
I love those moments. I like to wave at them as they pass by.
