I'm 18 and I still go trick or treating.I love it, I get to be a kid and get candy while being in the Halloween spirit. And all it costs me is a few dirty looks from the neighbors. Is there anyone else that many think is "too old" for this great tradition, but does it anyway?

I don't think your too old. Im close to your age, and I went last year. But I think I'm just gonna leave it up to the little kids now. I like watching them become happy...and scared. Plus, since I can drive and have money, I can buy just the candy that I like. :-)
I say go for it. Most neighbors suck anyways when it comes to halloween.halloween is a super cool holiday.

I don't think your really ever to old. I still have teenagers trick or treat in my area. As long as they are dressed for the part, it does'nt bother me.

i give out candy to parents that bring their kids up so, no you're never to old to get a piece of candy as a TOTer
if you want fewer dirty looks get a lil sibling or cousin or random kid to TOT with you that insists you get a piece of candy too
...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.

LOL I guess you wouldn't like my house then I give pencils and tooth brushes to the older folk LOL I just love the looks I get, although the kids do ask for pencils too! Hey if it's a good costume and they actually "went" for it I do give them candy though.
I just hate the ones that come up in a ripped shirt and think they're "zombified" when ya know damn well they wore that shirt to school! hehehe.....
I really only started doing it cuz there's a lady that wears a damn raggedy anne outfit every year and drives up to my house by herself and trick or treats ya right, she's a (how do I say this nicely) uummm large raggedy anne. Anyway I just think if you can drive a car to my house keep driving and go to the store and buy your own we get alot of kids and it seems I buy more and more every year and every year I still run out. Save it for the lil guys I say.
But like I said if you go all out and put thought and effort in a costume then I have no gripes.

I get a 30,40 and 50-year olds who come to my yard haunt dressed in costume, in couples or groups. Age doesn't matter to me if you've got a costume on. You get candy and I get to admire your costume; it's a win-win situation.
When I lived in a bad area, I got older teenagers at my door in street clothes, smoking cigarettes, and muttering Trick or Treat. I hated that: it felt threatening as there'd usually be several together vs. just me, and their motive was unclear.
And frankly I was annoyed when the 4 year olds came with their parents, and no one was in costume. It's not expensive to make a costume, just go buy a mask at the dollar store, even- sheeesh. More fun for the kid, and it's my reward for giving you candy. So, my answer is: any age, just please wear a costume.

I agree with trickortreat. As long as you're in a costume I don't see a problem. The more trick or treaters the better.

Well good I feel less like that creepy old guy lol. Dogman, luckily my friend is coming with me and she is just a year younger but she has petite features so maybe she can pass as my kid sister.

I am all for Older teens going T-o-T. I help my kids build their costumes (16, 17 and 20) and once they have made the round in the neighborhood with their friends they come back and help with the haunt.
Of course this year I think the 16 yo and the 17 yo are considering taking bags of candy out with them and treating the smaller kids along the way. For me I would much rather see young adults come to my haunt and get candy than have them out giving our holiday a bad rep by causing mischief
