Anyone know how to get a site to come up on google. I want my site to be on there so when you type it in, or something related it will come up. So far I have had no luck.

How long has your site been up? I never did anything to get ours on Google, it just was. We don't have the best placement, though.

Make sure you have valid meta tags for it.
Search for your site and see what is beating it out and then view their source code to get an idea of what tags they have set up. You will always have the best results if your site URL contains the search words in combination with your tags... and you have all of your friends sites linking to your site.

Google adds site to its search in due process, as the search engine robots crawl the web. You may want up create a robots.txt file on you site for the benefit of these robots.

Placement occurs depending on how often your site is linked to by other sites with quality content.

However, you can try to speed up the process by submitting your site URL directly to Google here.

What are you typing in with google when you are hoping to see your site?

The more content you have, the better.

We've never tried to get our site up on google either - we have a blog, but do have links and such/google adsense that make us a tiny bit of money. That being said, depending on what people search for (I have a counterizer on there so I can see exactly how they found us), we come up high. For example "custom Halloween headstones". This is just a little side thing we do, never really tried to get it up there, but because I blog about it and we have a section on our site about it, depending on the day we come up the first few.

The more content, key words, etc. that can be searched, the better your chances of getting up higher.
