I'm going to my girlfriend's parent's in Toledo this weekend. I have heard bits and pieces about Menards. I looked them up on line and they look like a home improvement place like Home Depot ? Do they have a lot of Halloween stuff ? I was planning on going there this weekend as there is one nearby their house.

Do they have anything of interest I might want to look for ?

I'd describe Menards as a cross between Home Depot and Ace hardware. It's like a very, very large Ace Hardware. Their Halloween stuff for sale in years past have been pretty good, but I've been extremely disappoited in what I've seen this year. Different stores and areas may be very different though, so I'd definitely recommend making a stop if there is one near where you're going.

I use to go to Menards years ago before they finally opened a Home Depot and Lowes by us. Back then we lived in the country. Now it's just the burbs. lol Well, I went there last week because, I bought all the fiberglass cloth and resin at my lowes and home depot. Menards prices were amazing! The resin was $5 less and the cloth $2 less. The Halloween stuff was just two aisles and nothing really special.

    Menards is something special.
It seems like they do have Halloween items that other Menards stores don't. They used to do a canopy over 3 isles, for showing things darker (lights, etc.). Their Halloween section is much more then just an isle or two, more like 5-6 isles. I feel lucky living in the Midwest, because they are only here. It's home store is based out of Wisconsin. Here are a few pics that were taken a few years ago. If seeing is believing, then here's a sneak preview.

P.S. The carry Lemax's Spooky Town cheaper but, it's packaged as Pumpkin Hollow (same everything else).

thanks for the pics Haunty. That skeleton is the one thing I cannot find locally for a decent price. That tag said $36. They are selling here for $80 at the Halloween chain stores and nobody else here has even ever stocked anything like that. Much nicer than a Blucky.

Don't forget to look for summer clearance items too...you can find lots of angel statues and crosses for a cemetery!
