Thread: stores in Watertown and Syracuse area?

Hi All,

I live in Ottawa, ON and it is tough to get a great selection of halloween stuff. Some places have the interesting stuff, but are expensive or the usual places like walmart and canadian tire never have enough stuff.

I was thinking of taking a day trip perhaps to Syracuse, can anyone tell me if there is a spirit open there yet? Or halloweenexpress? I wonder if there is a lowe's or other big box place that may have a good selection.

I have quite a lot of stuff as it is, which takes up a large portion of storage space in my basement. I have many, many large rubbermade containers stuffed full. Except the life sized stuff is more difficult to store lol So, I don't really know what I am looking for, but I will know it when I find it!

In Watertown there is a Spirit store that I visited today and they are not even close to be fully stocked, the associate told me next week they should be good to go. Target has no decorations yet and Walmart has a few aisles done. Best one so far in Watertown is Michaels. They had a few aisles and crafty stuff all over for halloween. I haven't been to Syracuse so I can't help you there. Good luck! Also not sure about Lowes or Home Depot.

I just got a flyer coupon book yesterday, and lo and behold there is a spirit store opening in Ottawa tomorrow! It is supposed to be 10,000 sq ft, so it will be interesting to see if they can fill it! There is a 20% off coupon as well.

I wonder if I can take some photos to see how it compares to some of the american stores. hmmmm

Syracuse has a cool place called the Christmas Tree Shoppe. (not really a Christmas store)- it is a big warehouse style store. Last year when I was up there, they had a ton of halloween stuff
