    1. Its to celebrate halloween coming
    2. It tastes soooooo much better after 1 year!!! TRY IT!!
My cousin was like that weird, the i let him try it and he said that he normally hates candy corn but he loved it this time! lol

The manufactors are probably already making the Easter candy. I know for sure they are making it by Christmas.

Having worked retail in the past I can tell you that candy can sit on the shelves for months before it is purchased.

If the candy is not discolored or does not smell wierd than I will still eat it.
I don't mean to alarm you but your insides look very Halloweeny.

Never tried it. I don't have any, so I guess I'll have to buy some and save it for next year

I LOVE, I mean LOVE stale peeps! I need to pick up some ghost peeps and leave them open a few days. They're so chewy!!!

Jon.....I so cracked up when I read your post!! I have a huge glass jar of candy corn we are munching down on right now in our house and its from last year!! It sat in that jar all year long & no one touched it, but now that its getting close to the season, everybodys been into it!!

Being a small candy manufacturer myself I just wanted to say that its true, holiday candies are made way in advance of the holiday. There are 3 major candy shows a year that everyone attends, those shows carry lines 6-8 months ahead of the date so retailers & distributors can place their orders early enough for the companies to make product.

Small candy makers like myself , we have to really hustle around the holidays. We make top of the line belgium chocolates. We show our holiday line 8 weeks prior to the holiday & take orders then. But come a month before the holiday we can be running around the clock to get stuff done & delivered. Thats what makes gourmet chocolates so expensive.......freshness, top of the line wax free candy & most importantly.....no preservatives. No preservatives makes for a short shelf life so you can't make the candy to much in advance.

So in our industry....the saying...."Ya get what ya pay for" is quite true. The largest companies that produce have product line PLANS for holidays done a year prior to the holiday. Then they start producing 8 months before the holiday in order to meet the demand. But you would be surprised what those large machines can whip out in a day.........thats not the case for me.........we make everything by hand.

Muf hahaha I found a picture of it from last halloween
