Here's an interesting article about how Halloween has become an entire industry and season, especially in the tourism realm. Interesting read...

I've always thought of Halloween as a season! It evolves...it starts out with basic autumnal stuff and goes on to the spookier stuff as one gets closer to the actual day.

So I'm glad to see this. I'll go read the article shortly!

I too have always thought of it as a season. Basically I start to think it's "Halloween time" in mid-August...as soon as back-to-school is getting finished.

Ha ha, that is great! I've always considered Halloween a season. I don't put out my "autumn" decorations (Gourds, Indian Corn, Hay Bales) until after Halloween.

Well, I can't say that I've ALWAYS thought of Halloween as a season, but I have for the last 8+ years. In Chicago, they say that there are two seasons... Winter, and construction season. I agree that there are only two seasons in a year, but in my opinion those seasons are Winter, and Halloween season. I sleep, eat, and breathe Halloween props from March through November. Then December through February is Winter.

Now, off I go to read the article.

Well alright then Joker. Chicago now has three seasons--Winter, Construction and Halloween! Yeah!

Hold on now... most of what I do during Halloween season is construction... of props. So still only two seasons, but it appears that construction season and Halloween season are the same thing.
