Well the stores are starting to put our their Halloween merchandise now, I’ve been to Target, Kmart, Spirit and Big lots. I haven’t seen anything yet that I “have to” have.
Has anyone seen anything that has WOWed them yet?

I don't know about WOW but, I kind of like the animated cat that Lowe's is carring for Gemmy. When I ran by Menards today there was a little skelly dog. I think it was called barking bones or some such. Looked like the size of a chewawa or weaner dog. It looked animated but, since I was in a hurry I just glanced and went on.

I'm seeing a lot of the same old stuff as last year. Nothing really outstanding. I've crossed off Michaels, Big Lots, TJMaxx, and even Party City as places that are just recycling their old stuff with maybe a couiple of lack lustre exceptions. Our Spirit opens tomorrow so I'll be checking that out. Thus far, Kmart, Walmart and Target don't have anything out yet so can't comment, but I'm not expecting much. I'm ending up making a few things this year and refurbishing a few props I've had for a while. Don't see myself buying anything new, but time will tell. Might just be an off year for many of the retailers.

So far the most impressive stores are Garden Ridge, Spirit (went yesterday, lots of nicely displayed new toys) and Halloween express (lots of costumes and a huge store but props are better at Spirit). And yeah Wal & K mart seem to have out the same old stuff from last year so far.

Well...the only thing that I've felt that thunder clap about is the witch mural from Pottery Barn.
There are a few things I have really liked but nothing like that mural. It just speaks to me! hah hah.

I have found that the longer we have done this, the more it takes to impress us. We go into stores and either say, "could build it cheaper" or "have it".
We have been very unimpressed with Spirit the last few years.

I'm in England at the moment so Halloween, what little there is of it in the part I live in, won't show until well into October.
But next year.......................

Call me crazy, but I've been most impressed with...*drumroll*... the Dollar Tree! I mean, you can't beat it for the 'little' things! Also, Lowe's has great prices on their Halloween merch! As far as props go, I had to have that crawling Donna this year, but other than that, everything else has been just kind of "eh."
