I have a few different projects that I am excited about and I thought I would make a thread so I could show them off, or at least the progress so far.
First I have my wine glasses. I got the transfers at Michaels and the glasses at Goodwill. I had a hard time putting the transfers on the curved glass without breaking them until I tried heating up some water in the glass in the microwave to make the glasses hot. I'm not sure how to seal them though. If I soak the glasses in water, the decal comes off and I would love for them to be permanent especially after all the effort I put into them. I tried spraying a small shot glass with a decal on it with a clear protective coating for glass projects, but unless I sprayed the whole glass, which might look odd and will use a ton of spray, it is going to look uneven and crappy. I might try painting on some of the spray just so I can get it over the edges, but I need to do a test run on my shot glass again.
Coasters: I was going to do the apocarathy labels for coasters that JohnnyL had posted, but I want to make an apocarathy cabinet and I have the drink glasses with labels, so I thought coasters would be over doing it. I saw on a few websites a new pattern of disposable party ware that I really liked but was disappointed it was only on paper and not something that can be reused. I downloaded a picture of a plate, photo shopped out the creases, printed it out on shrinky dink ink jet paper and sprayed it with a coating of sealant. I still need to add a few more coats and glue the non slip backing on, but this is what it will basically look like.
Garland: I love the Glitterville Halloween garland but was unwilling to pay the $30 price so I decided to make my own. I'm still trying to figure out what all I want on the garland, but I have been making felt candy and wrapping it in cellophane in the mean time. I went to Marshalls and got a 20 foot garland of candy corn (because I don't have the patience to make it myself like some of you other crafty geniuses out there) and I'm going to break it up and use it in my garland. I think I want skulls, so begins the hunt for the proper skulls. This is my candy so far and I think the orange and black felt works better than the tan and black which just looks pink under the cellophane.
And this is what the Glitterville version looks like. I don't like their candy corn.
Wreath: I'm not very far on my wreath project due to a lack of black spray paint at the moment, but what I have done so far is to get a Styrofoam pumpkin from Dollar Tree, carve it out and put a little light in it. It is going to sit at the bottom of my wreath.
Last think I'm working on right now is the apocarathy cabinet. I'm using it as storage for some other pieces that I am working on right now but it makes it look more filled which I like. I need to print out labels for the jars and find things to put in them all. Tried making parchment paper last night, but I think I'm just going to buy some instead. On the top I have the spiderweb runner from Big Lots and two carvable fake pumpkins. I'm not sure if I'll end up with three pumpkins or just a bunch of candles at the top.
This is just a tray that I scored at Ross and wanted to show off. It's coming in handy for doing crafts in bed!
Okay, I'm done showing off for now! Thanks everyone for letting me geek out on my Halloween projects!

I LOVE the coasters! Did you put the shrinky dink paper on a black tile? Where do you get the shrinky dink paper from? I'll stop asking questions now....but I really, really, really want a set of those!!

Thanks! I'm pretty happy with them so far! The Shrinky dink paper is white, you just print out what you want and that pattern happens to be black. The paper I found at both Michael's and Hobby Lobby and you only get 6 sheets. It's a dollar or so cheaper at Michael's, but you can find coupons for both places. The directions say to lighten the picture a bit (otherwise it is too dark when it shrinks) and you need to make sure to coat it with something to protect it. If it gets wet before it is coated, the ink come right off. I learned that the hard way! Here is the version that I photoshopped, but it still needs to be lightened. Hope it's big enough to be of some use! Oh! Also I had to reset my printer settings to accommodate the size because it is 8x11 instead of 8 1/2x11. You also need to print it so it is 8x8 covering most of the paper so it shrinks to an appropriate coaster size.

I love the cabinet idea, I have been looking for one (old cabinet) at yard sales and antique stores, haven't found one with the right price yet. Enjoyed seeing your work, it's good!

Looks great - you must have a lot of patience to decal all those glasses. Have you tried Modge Podge to seal it?
Oh, and post up pix of your wreath when you're done
