I took this job because I thought it would be fun. If I wanted minimum wage, a whiney boss and NO FUN ... I would have applied to Walmart!

I just told him this wasn't for me and left.

I will be emailing Spirit this morning though to let them know about this store. It's so sad to see people in a job they have absolutely no passion for.
If you give me a contact email address or ph # I will make a complaint as well, tell me where this store is and I would be happy to complain to thier boss.

Ive always thought I'd like to work at one of the stores around here that do halloween up good, I'd love to help people with halloween costumes and ideas Ive learned from the internet and forums, but I don t think they would let me have time off for my own haunt!

Interesting. Our local Spirit has had several of the same employees for the past few years. Each year we get "reacquainted" and they are very nice people and have some enthusiasm about the holiday. They are really all about customer service so if you've had a bad experience contact the corporate office and let them know. When the store is open, I usually drop by a couple times a week and even if just browsing have never been pestered to buy anything. Too bad your manager was not what you expected. With that attitude, he'll likely niot be working there long.

Well, I sent Spirit an email and still have not heard anything. I just told them that this store is new to this area and HAD so much potential. I also complained that it is not carrying many/any of some of the better, animated props and that the ones that are here are still in the boxes but it sure would be nice if folks could actually see what they are getting.

We'll see if I ever hear back.

Morb, I'll pm you with the location info. Thanks!

Sorry it diden't work out for you. Can I have the number to your store so I can call and talk with them? (I
ll pretend to be a bussniess person-mwhahaha)

Anyways, I can understand why things don't get set up. At my store, everythings ALWAYS on the ground. Children do ruien it and we can't replace that money. It is all about money and everyone know's that.

The fact that he hates halloween because of it, is just a poor excuse.

Rock on sister. (or brother I don't know if your a girl or boy) :-)

What crawled up your bosses ass and died?
I would have left too. People like your( former) boss have no business being in the halloween decorating scene. He probably hates halloween because he sucks at it. Anyways I know Spirit always looks for people to run stores. You should check out their site. They offer consignment projects, Im thinking about checking it out myself.

Wow, I'm glad I don't come across these rude people , I almost went to jail last time that happend. Manager at my Spririt store last year was really cool , made sure I got my 20% coupons. Gave me something free that he forgot to ring up.

I went in to our Spirit store this past Monday. The young girl asked me if she could help. They had a set with Jason, Hannibal, Witch, and the Be-headed gothic bride. I asked for the prices and she told me she was unsure but thought they were $80.00 a piece. I told her I would take all four of them. She schleped out all four boxes before looking at the price tags. I really should not have made her work so hard but if you are employed in a store I think you should really know the prices. :-)
Sorry SB if they were smarter they would let people like you manage the places, they wouldmake a lot more money.

I don't have a spirit store here. I have to travel 200 miles, but I have never had any problems there. They have displays set up all over the store, and are so helpful. They have packaged up displays for me, without a hitch. The manager is there all the time by the season end Im sure he is worn out, he has his father work for him, that old guy is great he knows nothing but he sure is helpful always asking his son my questions.
