So, I'm nearly finished with my homemade "cloaked mourner"...I still need hands and some black roses. What do you guys think?
I love her, and for about 12 bucks worth of material- I'm pleased!

Thanks! She's 5'5, my height. It was so easy, too. I didn't even sew the dress, just safety pinned it. I can't wait to make something else.

Now THAT is one gorgeous "knock-off"!! Very nice work, stranger. I don't sew, and that gives me hope that I can make something equally fantastic by just cutting and pinning. Good for you!!

Thanks, guys! I tried to use materials I had on hand. And I happened to have a LOT of pvc lying around from my failed attempt at a pvc fence.
Hooch, I bought 5 yards of that material at wally world for a dollar a yard. I cut of about two yards for the veil, and folded the other 3 yards in half longwise then just cut a slit in the middle and draped it over her hat/head, safety pinned around the neck and went from there. The only other cuts were the sleeves. (I just held up her arms and cut one straight slit up to the "pit" and safety pinned the arms and the sides of the dress.) And then cutting a bit of length off the bottom.
I wanted to incorporate one of those color changing pumpkin lights in her somewhere but mine are packed away and now it's too late (maybe). Instead I plan on shining a flood light on her in my yard.
Heres the base/skeleton.
Her "Hat head" can be found in my folder. I just used an old hat from my closet and cut the brim off of it. Then attatched it with a hanger."Where ya going, baby? You going to get the corpses?"
"Yes, Moe...I'm going to get the corpses..."

You're welcome, and thanks! The arms are just a coat hanger/plastic bag wrapped with duct tape combo. The PVC is half inch pipe cut into 6 inch pieces for the base.
