I really hope I put this in the right forum. If not, please excuse me.
I had to make the trip out to Michaels tonight to use that 40% off coupon before it expired. I had my two kids with me, and I am not sure who was more excited to be there. Me, or them. Anywho, my kids spotted the vampire in a coffin prop for $59.99, and while I thought it looked really cheap, and well, bad, but being the great father I am, caved in and bought it, thinking that I might be able to do something with it.
To make a long story short, I dug up last years costume of mine, and came up with this.....
From this.
To This.
The only things I added were a $7.99 mask, and a pair of $4.99 skeleton hands from Walgreens. I am going to make a video of the thing in action, because with a strobe light flashing on it, it looks pretty damn cool. I plan on having it sit in a corner, place a large black garbage bag on the floor, maybe 5ft X 5ft, and have the fog machine do its job.
Anybody else who can come up with suggestions to add to it, please feel free to let me know.

You know, I'm going to look at lame halloween props in a whole new 'potential' light. Great job!

why dont you add something to the coffin like spiderwebs, spiders, cheese cloth? make the coffin more then just a black coffin

I used my 50% Off coupon today at Michael's and also bought the same prop. I can't WAIT to re-dress mine! I plan to line the coffin with red satin. New hands and face are a must. Rats and spiderwebs, too.
I MAY just have to go back and get him a friend!

I saw this last week and made a post on it. The feedback I got wasen't very good. When I was watching it in the store it looked so cheap to me. Now that I look at your verstion I'm second guessing myself. Great work. The only thing that bothers me now (as always) is that dam clicking sound. Great job. Since you acutally bought it, how long of a lifespan do you think it will have? (that was a problem with some people)
halloween is a super cool holiday.
