We've finished the pipes and have painted them. Pieter's thinking of painting the first row of pipes gold so they stand out more. I'm not so sure. I also need to make the 'alcove' look more 'rock-ish'/'stone-ish'. I'm really bad with that artistic stuff. I'm also really bad at visualising
so need some opinions about the pipes. Should the first row be gold or should we keep them copper like the back row?

    Thanks,

    MsM

IMO, I don't think it will matter what colour the pipes are because they look way too new.

Gold or a more yellowish colour of pipes may be more traditional but if they aren't scuffed up it will seem out of place compared to the rest of the prop.

I like them all the same, but I agree age them a bit. I know there is something you can put on copper to patina it, if you like that look.

Thanks for the responses. It was just starting to get dark when I took the pics. And since it was under the carport, the flash went off. Probably not the best pic to show how they really look.
This is one I took during the day and mostly in the shade (the top is a bit in the sun).
I think I like them all copper as well. Just got to convince the other half not to paint the first row gold

Sure no problem. The organ is going to be against the wall under the carport where its standing now. People will be entering from the side. So it will be obvious that the pipes don't go all the way to the ground. We didn't want people to see the holder that Pieter made for the pipes that attaches to the back of the organ. So, we decided to do something similiar to what this guy did:

    GrimOrganist

We took a large piece of styrofoam (not pink foam or blue foam, too expensive here) and cut an arch out of it. Then we cut small bricks out of the rest of the styrofoam and glued them onto the arch making sure it created a depth to hide the pipe holder. Then we cut an opening/hole in the styrofoam so that it fits exactly onto the holder. Then a couple of straight pieces of styrofoam the same depth to go from the holder to the ground.
Today I talked to my neighbor. She's an artist so she's going to help me paint it to make it more 'stone-ish' next weekend.
I"ll be sure to tell Pieter that you said he did a good job. But don't forget, I was the one who made sure he had enough coffee to keep going while he was trying to figure out the motor thingie lol
