I decided on the final theme for my haunt, Im going with a tea party scene. Its a fairly large room and I think I have enough stuff to fill the space Im just not sure what the scare/thrill in the room should be. Id love to hear any ideas or suggestions![]()
Heres what I have so far...
one area has a table with 2 ladies (skellys) and a tea set
another area has a maid (skelly) beside a sideboard (of sorts) with dishes & candles
another area has a child sized skelly in a dress having a tea party of her own, I plan to add a doll or bear

Ideas:
fake (or real) tiny treats on a silver tray or cupcake tree (either mouldy looking with bugs, or perhaps actual finger sandwiches).
Critter/ghoul poking its head out of the tea pot
Fake blood in the tea cups
Something poking its head (and maybe hands) out from under the tablecloth.

A few years ago I read about a couple that had a doll tea set in their haunt. Somehow they magnetized the set and put it on a tray with revolving magnets beneath. The upshot was a spooky little tea set that seemed to move all by itself. I'm not sure how it was done. Ask the wizards of this board ... they know everything.

If you can work in a Peppers Ghost effect for the child's tea party, that may be rather frightening...everyone always hears the ghost stories revolving around children, and those always creep me out.
Hell is an eternity of getting up at 4am to nothing but decaf coffee...
2009 photos and 2008 photos ...uhmmm...and what I have evolving...

Here's a couple of pix of a scene from my display last year. The old hag is giving an etiquette lesson to the hag-in-training. There are "finger" sandwiches on a silver tray on the table. The other hag is is getting ready to prepare more fingers, graciously provided by the donor guy.

Don't forget the doilies! Make them black or spider webs. Old ladies lover their hats, they should be big, frilly, and full of bugs hanging down. The movining teacups can be done with the magnets. I saw the site doing it with a checker board.
One of them could have a dead cat in it's lap. If you do dolls, put in a small motor in their body and make the heads spin. lol If you really want to scare them, put a solid tablecloth on the table, and do a head popper come up from the tabe. Attach the tea pot to the top of the head so they don't expect it.
Or you could do a black widows tea party. Have one hold a gun pointing to the other on her lap and have her with a darning needle sticking out of your chest. The other lady holding the other needle while she was darning.
Good luck and show us pictures.
