At our age if ya don't start putting stuff up early you will find yourself putting up the cemetery while all your neighbors are setting up Santa on his sleigh with the reindeers!

We HAVE TO start early!!lol

Does anybody here cover their stuff and do a final reveal on TOT night?

I don't want a lot of 'tourists' driving by before the day and was considering having things in place, but covered in black plastic. My problem this year is the severe time crunch. I will probably have a whole week's lag between putting things out and TOT.

Some things like spiderwebs and outdoor lighting can be a do-ahead. But dragging out all my figures and 40+ lighted jack-o-lantern will take too long for day-of. I am thinking about staging things in outdoor clusters and covering each cluster with black plastic. I doubt if anyone will bother a pile of plastic held down with a few bricks and boards.

We live in a very safe, but isolated area.

Here in Western New York you not only have the chance of a graveyard or a skeleton walking off in the dead of the night, but you also have to deal with the elements (weather). It could be 60 degress on October 30th, by the 31st it could be below freezing and the snow falling. It happened a few years back. So, my plan each and every year is to only put out items that have minimal appeal to grow legs and can weather the storm (per si). Keep the more expensive props (most like the most exciting props) in the garage till the day of Halloween. I like to map out where everything will go, so that when I wake up on Halloween I can get out there and get it set up......
