When you guys go into a Halloween store what do you prefer them to be playing for music. Do you like Midnight syndicate style music, or them Drews party music cd's (monster mash, rock lobster), sund effect cd's, or horror movie themes. I like the sound of midnight syndicate and really feel that it helps to set a mood for the customers, but alot of folks seem to like the party music cd's. I just wondered what other people think, and any Halloween shop owners let me know what you play ?

As someone that loves going into any Halloween store...I personally prefer Midnight Syndicate and even horror movie theme songs. Monster Mash can be good, but I prefer the creepier music.

It's all good as far as I'm concerned.

No preference - love it all.

If I walked in and a really good performance of Bach's Tocatta in E-Minor, maybe some moody Debussy, etc. was playing, I'd probably spend more... but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon... heh

Definitely Midnight Syndicate! First, it gets me in the sinister mood to empty my wallet. Second, more than once I've ended buying the CD they're playing, so it's really a good sales pitch too!

Midnight Syndicate playing in a Spirit store is one of the reasons I've gone nuts with Halloween decorating. Years ago, I wondered into the store and while looking around the music really helped my creative juices get flowing. I thought to myself, well, if I get that CD, a fog machine and that prop over there, I could have a pretty kick-butt set-up. And it was! I didn't even go into the store to buy anything. I was bored and went to the mall to shop for some shoes.

That music is just perfect for a serious Halloween haunt. If you do that, be sure have the CD's by the counter with a big sign that says Now playing. You'll sell out of 'em!

I play this music non-stop while I'm decorating. It's inspirational and gets me in the mood to decorate in a very dark and gothic way! Thanks for the link Bean! I'm listening to it right now!
