I had some older fog machines I didn't have the heart to toss out. Then I actually READ the instructions (momentary lapse of tetesterone) that came with one of the new foggers. It said to use a water / vinigar / fog juice mixture (heavy on the vinigar) to clean the nozzles and system. I tried it and saved some good, old foggers.
Also, never store your fogger with fluid in the "fuel" tank. Please check my 2011 Haunt album here on HF. http://www.halloweenforum.com/member...ween-2011.html
Thanks

My oldest fogger (a lite f/x) is close to 6 years old. I store it with a small amount of fluid in the tank and have only pulled it out and plugged it in a week before each Halloween. It has never failed me yet. I have two others that are two years old and I've not cleaned them out either. I suppose I should do some maintainance on them but they all work like new.

It depends on what the mfg. recommends.
I usually leave a small amount of fog juice in the tank when I store it. The fog juice is said to lube the parts from drying out. A cleaning will help prolong the life of the fogger. Have read where some people have never cleaned their fogger & hadn't had problems.

I always store my fog machine with a little fluid in them.
