Have any of you tried using tiki torches for lighting? I also have a magician coming in and I would like to have him perform outside. Do you think the tiki torches would be enough or would I need to use a spotlight so the audience can see him?

We use tiki torches for all of our out side partys and it works well. It really depends on the area of space you'll be using and how bright you want it to be. I think if I was watching a magician, having light by fire would be much cooler to see. I say go for it. Plus since it's for a halloween partie that makes it even cooler.
Tiki torches also work great for a pirate theme as well.
Best of luck keep us posted.halloween is a super cool holiday.

We have used tiki torches, paper lanterns and hurricane lanterns. The best lighting has been string lights around insides of canopy tents and such.
Plus, we have a fire going... so there is plenty of good but not bright light.

Tiki torches work well.
But it wouldn't be bad to have a backup light, in case it's too dark to see the magic act. A colored flood light would do the trick nicely.

So how far do you keep the tiki torches apart from each other?
