When the kids were little I bought the CD Kidz Bop Halloween....and we still listen to it ever year. Another one I have is the Monster Mash CD, there a a couple of songs I really like on it: 'Spiders & Snakes' by J. Stafford/D. Bellany and 'I put a spell on you' by S.J. Hawkins.

"..and for the first time since I don't remember when, I felt JUST like my old bony self again! And I, JACK,the Pumpkin King...that's right! I AM the PUMPKIN KING! And I just can't wait until next Halloween cuz I've got some new ideas that will really make them scream.."
That's my favorite line in the whole movie. It just moves me in a corny way I just love his grand realization so much. We've listened to the soundtrack all year

Other than that we have a handful of mixed cd's with ghostbusters, werewolves of London ,monster mash etc. Haven't busted those out yet, but we should!
"Where ya going, baby? You going to get the corpses?"
"Yes, Moe...I'm going to get the corpses..."

    Add to your list:

    1) Disney's Haunted Mansion (Full Musical Score)
    2) The Haunting Soundtrack (the remake with Zeta Jones & Liam Neeson)
    3) Corpse Bride Soundtrack
    4) ALW's Phantom of the Opera (I have both the original London production and the recent movie soundtrack... both enjoyable)

(#1 is not the stupid soundtrack but the actual full movie score ... not commercially available and was almost impossible to get my hands on) :OP

I also have a 700MB collection of ghost stories called "The Haunted" or something like that. It has every possible ghost story imaginable (some well known some not)!
"Look Honey, they have... uhm... 'Dead People' in the backyard!"

"Your body's dying. Pay no attention, it happens to all of us!"

I can't believe noone here has mentioned Midnight Syndicate! They are awesome. Especially The 13th Hour. It is so haunting with it's classical/organ music and ghost whispers. When you listen to it, it actually feels like you're in some old creepy victorian house.
My next favorite is the soundtrack from Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. I have a haunted house permanantly in the woods down from my house it started out as 60 x 60 and every year it gets bigger. at Halloween it's run on generators. About an acre or two away from it , my husband made me a walking track. You can't see anything of civilization when you walk on it. If I am down there first thing in the morning when it's still pretty dark and the low areas have fog, I listen to these songs. I live out in the country so there's no one to bother me but the woods is creepy when you are alone no matter what. Add in the music and the dark and fog and it actually gives me that feeling that we got from being scared as kids that is so hard to recreate as adults. I love it.
Sorry I drifted off of the topic but definately check out Midnight Syndicate if you haven't.

I definitely agree. Midnight Syndicate is one of my favorite groups, along with Nox Arcana.

I don't listen to anything different 'during the season', as I've got both of these groups' CD's in rotation year-round

Did you know that Joseph Vargo of Nox Arcana used to be part of Midnight Syndicate? He was on Born of the Night. Then something happend and now they're not supposed to be selling that CD anymore. But I don't know I've had mine forever.
Nox Arcana is cool too a little more weird than Midnight Syndicate. I used their Carnival of Souls in my haunted house one year. I had certain songs looped in certain places. It turned out great.

creepyhomemaker....really enjoyed your post about your walking track. We have dense woods behind us & my neighbor made a trail for us to hike. Its pretty scary in there even in the daytime, on my web site there is a section called The haunted Collinwood Forest, there are some picturs of it & a story I wrote around them. Even on the sunniest day....its dark in there!

Two halloweens ago her daughter had a party for 13-14 yr. olds, there were a lot of kids there. Well her Mom decided to take these kids on the trail IN THE DARK!! There was another mom helping out but she asked me to go along. I asked her>>>>>>YOU ARE TAKING THOSE KIDS IN THERE IN THE DARK???

Man its scary enough in broad day light........so I went along....hahahahhha....never again.....talk about needing a spare pair of undies!! I was scared to death & so were most of those girls.......oh it was dark back in there. Even tho everyone had a good time I'm not sure I would want to do that again!!lol

SO your talking about your track & the experience you get from going there with low lying fog(we have that here too) & it being a bit dark........oh!.... gave me goosebumps!!!
